DriftKrieg - Prototype
A downloadable game for Windows
ABOUT
DriftKrieg is a fast-paced, arcade tank shooter where tanks can reach high speeds by drifting. Players battle each other at speeds of up to 200+ km/h, and the damage you deal depends on your velocity!
This project is currently only a prototype, and its future is uncertain.
The project was built on this:
FEATURES
-
Tutorial/Sandbox: A singleplayer experience where you learn the controls, including multiple dummy tanks you can shoot at.
-
Local vs. mode: Splitscreen experience where two players go against each other.
-
Controller Support: Player 1 uses Mouse and Keyboard and Player 2 uses a controller.
-
One map for training and one map for Local vs. mode.
-
Both players have only one tank to choose from.
INSPIRATION
After watching the Girls und Panzer anime, I wanted to play a game that emphasizes some of the ideas and concepts shown in the show. Sadly, the official games were really expensive and weren’t on Steam. After a short consideration, I decided to try and make my own little tank project that would eventually become more of its own thing.
And just to be clear, this is NOT a Girls und Panzer fan game. I’m trying to recreate some of the fun in the form of a video game together with my own unique twists.
QUESTIONS
Will there be a full release?
This is currently a prototype, and the fate of it is unknown.
Will there be more content?
Maybe.
Will there be online multiplayer?
Not in the near future.
AI DISCLAIMER:
During the development, I used AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to support me in the technical development of the project. All the assets, concepts, and gameplay mechanics stem from either open-source/shared assets or me.
